Dit voormalige vliegveld werd in 1943 door het Japanse leger aangelegd. Na de slag om Tarawa dat jaar, werd het vliegveld omgedoopt tot Hawkins Field en door U.S. Seabees uitgebreid. Er is tegenwoordig geen spoor meer van het vliegveld.
