Deze Aichi D3A Type 99 "Val" duikbommenwerper miste op 10 juni 1945 in eerste instantie haar doelwit (de USS William D. Porter), maar kwam op de een of andere manier onder het schip terecht en ontplofte waarop het schip verloren ging.
