Monument Voormalige Tarakan War Cemetery

Op deze plek waren 225 Australische soldaten van 26th Brigade, 9th Division, 2nd Australian Imperial Force begraven. Zij sneuvelden in de slag om Tarakan (1 mei - 21 juni 1945) of zijn later tot aan 15 augustus 1945 aan hun verwondingen bezweken. Op deze plek werd in 1942 een schrijn voor 255 Japanse gevallenen uit de slag om Tarakan dat jaar gebouwd. Deze werd in juni 1945 met de grond gelijk gemaakt. Tegenwoordig staat hier alleen nog het originele monument.
