Dit vliegveld is in 1942 veroverd door het Japanse leger, dat het voor haar eigen militaire operaties gebruikte. Het vliegveld is tussen 1942 en 1944 meerdere malen gebombardeerd door de geallieerden. Bij de ingang staat een A-26 Invader lichte bommenwerper.
