Crashlocatie Messerschmitt BF109 2./JG 27

Op 1 January 1945, tijdens Unternehmen Bodenplatte, stortte op deze plaats ('t Zand) een Duitse Messerschmitt BF109 2./JG 27 neer. Hij was neerghaald door het luchtafweer bij vliegveld Melsbroek. De piloot, Joachim von Stechow, kwam hierbij om het leven en is begraven op de Duitse Oorlogsbegraafplaats IJsselsteijn. Het vliegtuig is al compleet geborgen. Op de locatie is nu een bedrijventerrein.
