Fort "Mewi"

Fort "Mewi" is tussen 1844 en 1876 gebouwd als onderdeel van vesting Gdansk. Tijdens de invasie van Polen door Nazi-Duitsland in 1939, werd dit fort gebruikt als uitvalsbasis voor Duitse troepen naar het schiereiland Westerplatte. Na de slag om Westerplatte, was fort "Mewi" een tijdelijke kamp voor Poolse krijgsgevangenen. [b]Het fort tegenwordig:[/b] Tegenwoordig is fort "Mewi" een ruïne die vrij te bezoeken is.
