In 1954 this stone was added towards the reconstruction of the village and unveiled by Rear - Admiral A. F. Pugsley C.B., D.S.O., who commanded the naval assault group in 1944.[/i] [i]In 1944 werd Westkapelle noodgedwongen in de strijd om de vrijheid verwoest. In 1954 werd deze steen aan de herbouw van het dorp toegevoegd en onthuld door Rear - Admiral A. F. Pugsley, C.B., D.S.O., die de maritieme landingskrachten in 1944 commandeerde. 26 juni 1954.[/i]
