Dit kasteel is tussen 1942 en 1943 gebouwd en was bedoeld als residentie voor Otto von Wachter, de toenamlige Gauleiter van het Krakau district. Toen Himmler Krakau in 1943 bezocht werd dit kasteel aan hem geschonken door Gauleiter Otto Frank. Het kasteel werd vanaf dat jaar tot 1945 gebruikt als sanatorium voor de Waffen-SS en Luftwaffe veteranen.
