Dit monument herdenkt de kapitein Alexei Karabonowa, commandant van het 3e Tankbataljon (44e Tankbrigade), die op 30 januari 1945, tijdens gevechten om de Ostwall, door een Duitse sluipschutter geveld werd. Hij werd postuum bevorderd tot de rang van majoor.
