Dit monument is gewijd aan Jozef Gawlina, een Poolse geestelijke die vanaf 18 oktober 1939 in het Poolse leger diende als veldbisschop. Tussen 1943 en 1945 was hij verbonden aan het 2e Poolse Korps.
