Dit monument is ter nagedachtenis aan de 9 bemanningsleden en passagiers van de Finse Junkers Ju 52 OH-ALL "Kaleva", die op 14 juni 1940 door twee Sovjet DB-3T torpedo bommenwerpers werd neergehaald. Aan boord zaten twee Duitse zakenmannen, twee couriers van de Franse ambassade, één Zweed, één Amerikaanse courier en één Estonische vrouw.
