Dit monument herdenkt William Slim die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog het 14de Leger leidde. Het 14de Britse Leger vocht gedurende de periode '43-'45 in het Azië. Enkele van hun strijdtonelen waren Birma, Singapore en Malaya.
