Monument Hawker Hurricane V7221

Dit monument is ter nagedachtenis aan de Poolse piloot, Bolesiaw Wiasnowolski, die hier op 1 november 1940 neerstortte met zijn Hawker Hurricane (serienummer: V7221). Hij was neergehaald door een Me109 gevechtsvliegtuig. De tekst op het monument luidt: [i]"In this field, on 1st November 1940 Pilot Officer Bolesiaw Wiasnowolski V.M., K.W. Royal Air Force 213 Squadron R.A.F. Tangmere (formerly of the Polish Air Force) Died aged 23 when his "Hurricane" V7221 crashed following aerial combat with a German Me109. HE DIED DEFENDING BRITAIN, POLAND AND FREEDOM"[/i]
