Maginotlinie - Fort Boussois

Dit Maginot-fort is tussen 1934 en 1938 gebouwd op de fundamenten van een oudere fort als onderdeel van de [i]Secteur fortifié de Maubeuge[/i] van de Maginotlinie. Op 19 mei 1940 begon het fort te vuren op Duitse formaties in de buurt. De Duitse 28e Infanterie Divisie beantwoordde met artillerievuur van dichtbij en ook werd het fort gebombardeerd door Stuka's. Op de 21e werd een Duitse grondaanval afgeslagen door het fort. Op 22 mei 1940 capituleerde het fort. [b]Het fort tegenwoordig:[/b] Fort Boussois is tegenwoordig nog steeds militair terrein.
