Dit treinstation is in opdracht van Mussolini speciaal voor Adolf Hiter gebouwd. Een nieuwe weg genaamd "Via A. Hitler" maakte een verbinding met Porta San Paolo. Hitler arriveerde hier in mei 1938 met de trein. De uiteindelijk bouw is in 1940 voltooid, waarna het station op 28 oktober 1940 ceremonieel geopend. De fascistische bouwelementen zijn tot op de dag van vandaag te zien.
