De 4th Marine Division heeft veel verliezen geleden in de gevechten om "The Amphitheater". Tegenwoordig is hier door de uitbreidingen van Iwo Jima Air Base niks meer te zien. Samen met Hill 382 en "Turkey Knob" werd deze sector de "Meatgrinder" genoemd.
