Monument 16th Infantry Regiment Combat Medics

Deze steen bevindt zich in de getijdenzone van Omaha Beach onder de [towid]38, Normandy American Cemetery[/towid] en toont de namen van de 36 medics die met het 16th Infantry Regiment op dat gedeelte van het strand zijn geland, waaronder Charles Shay. De steen identificeert ook de namen van de 4 medics die stierven op 6 juni 1944. De steen bevat de volgende tekst: "At this rock SSgt. Arnold "Ray" Lambert set up the first casualty collection point at Omaha Beach. In honour of the -Combat Medics- men who placed their lives on the line to save their comrads. Their professionalism, dedication and heroism give their units the confidence to prevail in the face of extraordinary danger on D-day.
