De Nakajima B5N Kate EI-306 stortte op 7 mei 1942 vanwege een tekort aan brandstof neer in de Indispensable Reefs. Haar 4-koppige bemanning overleefde de noodlanding en werden opgepikt door de Japanse torpedobootjager Ariake.
